ACCESS STATEMENT

Parking

• There is a designated disabled car park space

• The Customer does not have to cross a road
• There is a convenient drop off / pick up point near to the entrance
• There are approximately 20 car par spaces
• If help is required assistance from the hotel can be acquired

• The car park is at the rear of the hotel
• Wide entrance 7 metres
• The surface is smooth and hard standing
• Those walking from car to hotel should be aware of in coming and out going cars entering car park
• There is a designated disabled car park space

Outside Access
Rear to reception

• Good lighting from car park to entrance
• Sign posted clearly and visibly to entrance / reception
• Sign post not Braille
• There is a level access into the building
• The area is well lit
• The area is without a handrail
• The doors open away from you (push into the building)
• The width of the entrance when both doors are open is 5 foot 2 inches
• The doors can be fastened open for access
• There is a second set of internal foyer doors similar to the above dimensions

Outside Access
Front from main road

• There is ramp access into the building
• There is good wheelchair access
• The doors open away from you (push into the building)
• It’s a hard floor be careful of spillages or rain fall splashing in

Reception

• There is level access to the reception from the entrance
• There are no handrails
• The reception desk is well lit
• The reception desk is medium height
• There is a reception seat in the need of a rest

Inside Access

• Surface is level from the entrance leading to lounge bar and restaurant
• There are no steps
• There are no hand rails inside 
• The main area is well lit
• If help is required assistance from the hotel can be acquired
• All corridors are straight but 90 degree corners must be negotiated in wheelchair use

Other Floors

• There are 18 steps leading to 1st floor bedrooms and residents lounge
• There are 18 steps leading to 2nd floor bedrooms
• There is a handrail on the left of the stairs from the ground floor to the first floor to the second floor
• There is a 3 foot 3 inch door from staircase to bedroom floor
• The steps are 7 and half inches in height
• The steps are well lit
• There is a lift to both floors
• The lift holds 4 people or a weight of 600lbs
• The lift accommodates a small wheel chair
• There is a level surface to all accommodation rooms
• The fire escape exit is by room 4 on the first floor
• The fire escape exit is by room 16 on the second floor
• The fire escape is well signposted from all bedrooms

Toilets

• There is a disabled toilet with full facility aids
• Ladies and Gentlemen’s Toilets are on the ground floor
• There is no step to the toilets
• The baby changing unit is on the wall in the Ladies toilets
• In the event of a mixed helper to the disabled, one of the hotel staff is available on request to guard the front door
• The toilets are all tiled on the floor so beware of slippery surfaces

Rooms

• There are 9 bedrooms on the first floor
• There are 10 bedrooms on the second floor
• The fire exits are no more than 1-10 metres from these rooms
• There are no bedrooms on the ground floor
• There are telephones in all bedrooms
• In the need of assistance please telephone reception
• There are hot taps in all bedrooms
• All bathrooms have a bath (except room 11)
• All the bedroom doors can be locked from the inside

Restaurant/Lounge Bar

• There is a level surface in both the restaurant, conservatory and the lounge
• There is wheelchair accessibility throughout the ground floor
• All dietary needs (i.e. gluten free, diabetic etc) can be accommodated on request
